I recently had the pleasure of shooting some DELICIOUS (yes, I took a lot of ‘leftovers’ home that night) pies and pastries for Harrow & Eton, a wholesale catering company that is starting up in Melbourne by pastry chef Jo Groud. Jo formerly owned Portsea Pier General Store and Cafe, and is now expanding her pastry prowess into traditionally made, big, generous pies and pastries. Think mandarin duck (mandarin infused duck fillets with ginger and spices), catalan beef (spanish style beef with a chocolate, cayenne and orange gravy) and curried scallops type of pies….but it doesn’t stop there - she is just as good at making sweet pastries - some I tasted were chai creme brulee tarts, pear and bourbon crumble tarts and orange and almond madeira cake. Oh, and she also makes buttery croissants and muesli - breakfast is the most important meal of the day right? Follow Harrow & Eton on Instagram while their website is being built - and you’ll be the first to know where you can buy this buttery goodness from…
