Since starting Made From Scratch Places last year I’ve have loved sharing the beautiful places that I visit often, and of course visit for the first time and fall in love with! Te Uru Gallery in Titirangi was one of those places. The second my husband and I walked into this beautiful space over the weekend we completely fell in love with it.

The stunning emerald green building which is attached to the older Lopdell House is such a lovely welcome into one of the most beautifully styled galleries I’ve visited. The space inside Te Uru Gallery itself is a true work of art, the views over the Waitakere rain forest and Auckland’s west coast beaches are breathtaking and of course the gallery is home to some of New Zealand’s most prestigious contemporary art collections. We were lucky enough to see Judy Millar’s exhibition which is one you must visit before it closes on the 5th of April, her wooden installations and interactive pieces are beyond mesmerising and well worth a visit. If you’re ever in need of a day trip one day from Auckland, you simply must visit Te Uru Gallery, and of course time it a little better than we did and visit the local markets before taking a wander along the beautiful West Coast beaches. It’s such a lovely way to spend any weekend. x
