There’s a certain therapy about nature - looking at it, feeling it, smelling it. And for me, drawing it gives me a renewed appreciation for the delicate details every time.

About a month ago, I was commissioned by Lodestars Anthology (a beautiful travel publication) to illustrate a wildflower border. I hadn’t ever drawn wildflowers before (it was mostly roses and peonies at that point) and after some research, realised they were much pricklier and spiky to what I was used to! But spending all those hours trying to capture the detail of those flowers gave me such insight to the beauty of Australian flora and really, all botanica that I don’t think I’ll ever stop!

What are your favourite flowers? I’d love some new ones to practice!
