Each year my new years resolution has almost always been the same - it’s to simply read more books. Sadly last year I didn’t have a great deal of time to read as much as I would have liked, but since the storm passed I have been reading as much as possible. I have never been picky about what I read, I will read anything on any topic from business, self help/psychology, children’s, biographies/memories, travel, trashy romance, classics, coffee table, fashion and of course cookbooks. And will sometimes have two or three books on the go at once.

Books have for me lately an escape, reading and running have been two of the only things lately that will completely calm my mind, centre it and leave me feeling so much better afterwards. And I absolutely love it. I really enjoy being able to carve out a little time here and there to really enjoy a good book - and more so I absolutely love being recommended new ones to read. So much so that I’d like to return the favour and recommend/review the books that I have read so that if you wish you can add them to your list of books to read this year. I love that a simple book is able to take you to new lands, inspire change, teach you something new and of course open your mind to something new and wonderful that you may not have ever known before - plus of course they make for beautiful decor pieces to add around your home. I have also started reading with a pencil close by so that if I come across a quote, or something I’d like to remember, I underline it so I’m able to look back to it later on.

If you of course have any books you’d like to recommend, simply leave a comment below so I can look for them. I’d love to hear what your favourite books are, what you read last year, or of course what you plan on reading this year. x
