One of my favourite things about summer has always been lazy BBQ’s - where a quite day is quickly filled with friends dropping in to say hi and then they stay for a BBQ and you have spend a relaxing evening together enjoying good food, wine and of course company. It’s just such a nice part of the festive season. So along with all of the delicious Christmas baking and treats that we all share and enjoy this time of the year - it’s also the time of the year for creating simple and tasty meals that you can share quickly. I’m all about as little effort and fuss this season, plus there is just something so nice about bite size brioche burgers/sliders. This is such a simple recipe for those last minute guests that pop in over summer. I hope you’re all having a really lovely weekend so far. x
Recipe
Preheat your oven to 120C and lightly toast the brioche buns while you’re preparing everything else.
Using a fry pan (or bbq hot plate) cook the meatballs over a medium/high heat to your liking, I added a slice of cheese to the top after one side had been grilled and allowed it to melt into the meat. Then simply assemble your sliders to your liking, serve on a platter and enjoy.
There are of course so many flavour variations for sliders and burgers this season, everything from; Christmas ham with sweet mustard, chicken with a touch of mayonnaise and fresh salad, pulled pork and coleslaw or of course simply fresh tomatoes served with mozzarella and a basil leaf. And to make it even simpler for yourself, simply lay out all of the ingredients you like, and allow your guest to create their own gourmet burgers and sliders. So simple and so perfect. x
