One of my friends kindly shared this recipe with me years ago - and since then I’ve made and shared it countless times. It’s one of those truly stunning never fail recipes that is always a crowd favourite and every time someone tries a piece, or two, of this classic chocolate brownie they immediately ask for the recipe. So, to celebrate the start of a lovely new week, I thought I’d share my all time favourite Classic Chocolate Brownie recipe with you - it’s so quick to make you could sever it for dessert this evening if you wish. I hope you all have a really lovely week planned, and is made a little better but a slice or two of delicious homemade Chocolate Brownie. x
Preheat oven to 180°C, lightly butter and line a 20x20 baking tray with baking paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine both sugars and whisk to combine. Add the butter, cocoa powder and vanilla essence to a medium sauce pan and gently melt over a low heat until smooth and combined. Carefully pour the chocolate mixture into the sugars and whisk to combine. Add the eggs in one at a time and whisk until smooth, before adding the plain flour and whisking/stirring with a wooden spoon until everything is well combined and smooth.
Pour the brownie batter into your prepared tray and bake for around 25-30min or until a skewer instered comes out just clean. Allow to cool in the tray for around 10min before turning out onto a cooling rack to cool slightly. Cut into generous squares, and serve with a dollop of fresh cream and fresh berries. Enjoy, I’d love to hear what you think of this lovely recipe. x
